What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
I feel like there was less in undergrad that helped my career. Still, in whatever relationship I had with my professors or peers, I tried to do my best work.
This didn't always come through, but I aimed to put in my best effort and be someone others wanted to be around. The second part might sound superfluous, but my dad told me long ago that being competent or the best is only part of it.
The people who stick around and are effective are those others want to be around and work with. That's the tipping factor that keeps you there and helps you stay.
So, in any relationship, I tried to be a delight to be around. I also genuinely tried to build relationships so we could get better at working together.
