What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

One lesson that I've learned is to always put one foot forward, regardless of whether you know it's the right foot. I hesitate to say that because you don't want to go in the wrong direction for too long, but a lot of hesitation can cause failure in this industry.

For example, maybe you're calling someone and you're a little scared. If you're a broker and you're frightened because this person is so experienced, just make the call. Or you don't necessarily know what position you want to hire for your development project, or what needs to be done with the city. Make the call, call someone, try to figure it out.

Just take a step forward, because inaction is what will kill you. You have to take some sort of action all day, every time.
