Significant Career Lesson From A Realtor At Compass
Sean, a Compass Realtor, highlights that entry-level opportunities for undergraduates in real estate aren't limited to sales; many agents need assistance with "running agents' social media accounts," "helping with open houses," and other tasks, offering a pathway to learn "the foundation and building blocks of what the day-to-days are" before pursuing a sales role.

What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?
I think there's a lot of opportunity for college students, not to do exactly what I do as a real estate agent, but to be an assistant. If you're good at marketing or good on the computer, there's so much demand for running agents' social media accounts, their Facebook profiles, and their Instagrams.
Helping with open houses is also a big part of it. There's a lot of busy work and smaller things that need to be done. As agents, for us to be most successful, we want to focus on the big things.
So, if there's an opportunity to offload some of those smaller, more time-consuming tasks, it's beneficial. Being an assistant is a great way to get your foot in the door, meet people, and set yourself up for long-term success. You can learn and understand the foundation of the day-to-day operations.
