Entry-level Positions for Aspiring Realtors at Compass
Sean, a Compass Realtor, reveals the reality of the profession differs greatly from its glamorous portrayal on television, stating it's "really time consuming and it's really demanding and it's hard." The success of the role hinges on consistent sales, requiring significant effort beyond what is typically seen, including extensive client communication and considerable "busy work" often performed for free.

What have you learned about this role that you wish somebody had told you before entering this industry?
I wish I had known how difficult and demanding this profession actually is. People look at real estate agents and what we do, seeing shows like *Selling Sunset* and all the stuff on TV, and they think it's easy.
They imagine we walk into an office, make a couple phone calls, sell a house, and get a big paycheck. But there's so much more that goes into that. We're salespeople, so if I'm not selling, I'm not earning.
A lot of what I do is busy work, or I do it for free. I have clients I've worked with for years who haven't bought anything, yet I maintain consistent communication with them daily and weekly. I'm always trying to find them the right house or investment property.
I'm also trying to sell myself as the right person to sell their house. It's not as easy as it looks on TV. It's really time-consuming, demanding, and hard.
It's an oversaturated, difficult, competitive market, so it's not as easy as it looks on TV.
