Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college?
Did you have any internships or jobs before your current role?
In college, I majored in business administration with a concentration in management information systems. This involved learning coding, like Python, SQL for querying databases, and data visualization. That was my academic background.
During my junior year of college, I began an internship at a local accounting firm as an IT help desk support technician. After about a year, this internship evolved into a full-time role while I was still attending college.
After graduation, I grew within that role, focusing on automation. I used technologies like Robotic Process Automation, which involves programming computers to perform tasks that would otherwise be done manually. I found this enjoyable, as it simplified many of the mundane processes our admin team handled.
A couple of years ago, a recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn for a position at First Republic Bank in their audit department. My role there was similar, involving automation with Robotic Process Automation technologies for the audit department.
Currently, I'm at JP Morgan, also in their audit department. However, my focus has shifted from automation to data. I now handle data requests for the audit team, pulling necessary data and creating dashboards for visualization.
