Q9: What did you wish you knew before entering the industry?

What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?

Everything takes longer than you expect, particularly with the construction aspect of it. That timeline has only gotten longer.

This also means customers are taking longer to make decisions, which has a ripple effect throughout the process. Adaptability and flexibility on the construction side are important. You need to be able to substitute products that might not be ideal but can still work within the customer's timelines.

The idea that everything takes longer, from customer decisions through the execution phase, is part of project development. It's non-linear. What happens as you move from point A to your perfect schedule will never be exactly right.

It's going to be a guideline. Having the adaptability to understand that things will change is important.
