Q12: College ideas for success.

What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?

I really tried not to go super deep in any one area and have a broad base. Having a broader background in engineering and science gave me the logical footing to problem-solve.

Taking courses in business and humanities, and having that exposure, gives you the ability to connect to people in the real world in different ways. Engineers like to be with engineers; we're all technical.

But having the ability to talk to other people and have relationships with people in other industries is really important, just from a life lesson perspective. Having that broad base in undergrad really gave me that side of it as well.

From my background, I played tennis in college. Being able to play sports gives you yet another reason to be able to bond with people. I think those two things really set me up for success in life.
