What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?

Absolutely. On the management consulting front, most firms call these "Consulting roles" or "Consultants," and you can go straight into that world from undergrad.

On the agency side, it's usually something called a junior strategist or junior analyst. Maybe a junior account partner if you want to interface more directly with clients. Those are typically what they're called across the industries I'm most familiar with.

In any of these roles, even on the management consulting or agency side, you're probably going to be staffed to a single client at a time. This allows you to build industry experience and really focus on that client.

Typically, junior strategists or junior consultants are paired with someone more senior and seasoned. This ensures they're not speaking to CEOs by themselves, and they have someone to help them develop their work and insights.
