Favorite Parts Of Being A Senior Writer And Creative Director At Starbucks

Sara, a Senior Writer/Creative Director at Starbucks, enjoys the "creative job" offering a "full-time job with health benefits," a rarity in other creative industries. The longer timelines allow for high-quality work, and seeing projects like "experiential marketing" come to life and bring joy to others is particularly rewarding.

What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?

There are many things I enjoy about my job. It's a very creative role, and I feel super fortunate to have it because it offers a chance to use my creative abilities while also providing a full-time position with health benefits. This combination isn't easily found in many other industries, including other creative fields.

The pace is also a bit less hectic than, for example, experiential marketing. That's another closely related industry where we often have generous timelines. This gives us a lot of time to examine each project and produce our best work.

Another enjoyable aspect is the opportunity to visit the experience once it's built. This doesn't always happen, but when it does, it's incredibly rewarding to see the project come to fruition. Witnessing others interact with it and derive joy from it is a significant part of why I believe everyone in this industry does what they do.
