What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I've been in my current role for five years, and I like it a lot here. What I really enjoy is the variety of work I get to do.
What's unique about my role at a tech company is that often you might be focused on one specific product or part of the business. In my role, I get to touch all parts of the business. I could be reporting on our AI strategy, talking about our sustainability work, or another initiative at Salesforce. I get to touch a lot of different things, which keeps the role really exciting and interesting.
I think the number one thing that makes this role great is my team. It sounds cliche, but I truly believe who you work for, your manager, and your team's culture and dynamic are the most important parts of a job. I've learned throughout my career that I could be doing many different things, and as long as the team, the people I work with, and my manager are awesome, I'll probably be really happy and satisfied. That's a big reason I've stayed on the team for so long.
Elements of a great team include people willing to help get the job done, who are collaborative, who are there for each other, and who get to know each other outside of work. I would consider all of my coworkers close friends, which is really cool.
It's also exciting to be at a company like Salesforce, a huge tech company with 80,000 employees. Salesforce was the first CRM and put CRM on the map, and they're continuing to innovate with AI and generative AI. It's a fun industry to be a part of. Plus, it's the tallest building in San Francisco, so it holds some clout. It's fun to be known and to work for a brand that's so well-liked.
