What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
That's another good question. My major didn't even have anything to do with what I'm doing now. I studied commercial real estate and regional development.
Being able to do a lot of different activities throughout college, like internships, fraternities, and intramural leagues, had a big impact on my career. Being a referee also helped me understand and know how to talk to many different styles of people.
I like to talk to people and have conversations. I'll walk up to anyone at an event and have a great conversation with them. It’s about letting the butterflies settle and not worrying about what people will think.
It takes courage to step up and do that, because many people don't like to. I'm an extrovert, so I enjoy going in and having conversations with people. I like to truly understand them, not just respond.
