What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?
The most common role is a carrier representative. In this position, you'll work with trucking companies that service large clients.
When I say clients, I mean the stores you shop at and the brands you buy. These are the entities that have freight moving across the country.
Usually, before you interact directly with those clients, you'll work with the trucking companies to help service them. So, the carrier representative role is a primary entryway.
There are also customer-facing roles like account coordinator and account supervisor. If someone already has experience managing clients, they could step into these entry-level positions as well.
