What do you enjoy most about being in your role?
I like the visibility our team gets. Being in capital risk, we help manage the bank's financial resources. Decisions that affect us are being made at the highest levels of the company, so I think that's very interesting.
We get to see a combination of what sorts of strategic focuses our leadership has. Our leadership is interested in what we do because the risk we manage and the insights that we provide help them steer the company and drive their strategy. I think the visibility is very interesting.
There's also a strong problem-solving aspect. As I said, there's not necessarily a standard day in the life. Problems might come across my desk that I didn't necessarily anticipate.
I think it's intellectually satisfying to be able to take those issues, try to help solve them, and provide some insights to our leadership that way.
