What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I think going back to one thing you need is to be curious. I'm a curious person, and in my job at a research institute, my curiosity is satisfied all the time.
I get to dig deep and learn more about things I never knew about. Then, I get to connect them to other things we're doing.
Some people are specialists in a certain area, but I'm more of a generalist. By being interested in so many different things, I can connect the dots across different areas.
Then I can write grants or connect that to the grant I'm currently working on that's funding me. I can also strategize with my coworkers and figure out what we want to do next.
