What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

It's an emotional rollercoaster. When you hold someone's livelihood in your hands, it can be very painful and emotional to deliver bad news, no news, or unexpected news. This is something about recruitment I hadn't considered before.

It is really rewarding to be able to give people good news and extend offers. Seeing them move into new roles is the high point of the emotional rollercoaster; it's exciting, happy, and full of joy.

But on the flip side, it can be heartbreaking to have to deliver disappointing news or let someone down. For me, that can't just be the end of it. That's when candidate experience really kicks in.

I want to hold their hand and provide them with services and solutions to lift their spirits. I want them to know I'm still there, and we can go through it together.
