What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I'm passionate about my firm, our company's culture, and what we do as investors in this field. I'm also passionate about creating relationships. This business is all about people, and I enjoy building connections.
Some of these relationships extend beyond the professional realm into personal life. I love studying markets. We're essentially sitting on Wall Street, and simply knowing things isn't enough.
You're constantly learning. Geopolitical events across the world, or micro-structures within investments, are always evolving. The asset classes are very fluid. What was needed 10 years ago isn't necessarily applicable to today's investor challenges.
You study environmental, social, and governance issues, ESG. There are various acronyms that have been developed over time. But I think the real passion is for the relationships.
Yes, the market environment and its politics provide so much intellectual stimulus involved in what I do. So, I would say it's mostly the relationships we build, but it's also the nature of our engagements within those relationships that makes this experience pretty awesome.
