What skills are most important for a job like yours?
On the technical side, I'd say it's important that you enjoy working with numbers and data. Analytical skills and critical thinking are quite important in investing.
But at the same time, softer skills, like the ability to communicate effectively, form relationships, and have good interpersonal skills, can be just as important. A lot of my job comes down to understanding and interacting with people.
This includes people within your own company, as well as others. These could be investment bankers who send you potential deals, or management teams of businesses you own or are interested in owning. Being able to form a connection with people and have a good relationship plays a big role as well.
