What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

I work for a large fundraising consulting firm. We consider ourselves a fundraising solutions firm, and we're a big company with 550 employees and offices around the country and globally.

We work with nonprofits of all sizes across different sectors. Whether it's a billion-dollar healthcare system or a small, community-rooted human service organization, the common feature is that when they work with us, they are typically at a moment where they want to elevate their work and propel it forward. They're usually at an important juncture.

We help them with various aspects of fundraising, including major capital campaigns for new facilities and endowment campaigns for long-term sustainability. We also support campaigns designed to fund specific programs.

This includes services like feasibility and planning studies. In these studies, we meet with their constituents to understand perceived strengths, opportunities, and their interest in supporting a significant campaign. Then, we help them define their goals, such as a target fundraising amount and timeline.

I started at CCS years ago and have grown into my current role, overseeing our work in Colorado. I work with our consultants, and typically, while we use a team-based approach, one consultant is dedicated to each client.

I support a portfolio of these directors. I work with hospitals, schools, and human service organizations to propel their fundraising efforts and support their missions.

My current responsibilities involve the sales side of things. I start conversations with nonprofits, understand their goals, and see how CCS can support them. I have a sales goal for our region.

Once we're in partnership with an organization, I am ultimately responsible for our projects with them. I support the directors on the projects and am responsible for our work in Colorado.
