What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
It's complicated. It goes back to having to be curious because you're protecting an entire organization, not just doing one particular skill set.
I love learning about other parts of our business. I get to do something technical or functional with each department that needs help, and you kind of act as a consultant within a company.
I've always hated the idea of having to travel to be a consultant. In security, you're an internal consultant within your own business, which means you don't have to go anywhere. You can do it from home or the office. You don't have to travel with different client expectations all the time. I like that.
