Biggest challenges faced by a Performance Data Analyst at Boston Bruins
Peter's biggest challenge as a Performance Data Analyst for the Boston Bruins is managing the "logistical aspects of the job," namely adapting to the demanding, ever-changing schedule of almost daily games and the diverse needs of stakeholders such as the head coach, general manager, and performance director, requiring "adjust[ing] my approach on the fly." This highlights the dynamic and fast-paced nature of applying data analysis in a professional sports environment.

What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
Definitely adapting to the demands of the schedule, between the travel and games almost every other day. I'm also adapting to the demands and needs of the people I'm providing information to, whether that's a head coach, GM, or performance director.
If I'm working on something and someone comes to me and says, "Hey, I need this instead," or "You need to do this differently," I need to adjust my approach on the fly and move things around to accommodate those requests and needs. The logistical aspects of the job are probably the hardest things to manage.
