What does the day in the life of a law firm partner look like?
There are lots of telephone calls and meetings with clients nowadays. There's a lot of Zoom call meetings, but I just got done with a face-to-face meeting with two clients who have problems.
They may be losing business because their franchisor let another franchise open nearby. Or, the franchisor may have made promises that aren't being kept, or isn't helping them with marketing. There are a number of different problems.
We discuss these issues with them, come up with a legal analysis of their rights and duties, and then act on it. If a lawsuit is involved, we have a lot of work to prepare and file it, and to respond to the other side. Sometimes the franchisor sues first, and we get engaged in discovery, all the way up through trials.
