How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
You have to be a little contrarian by nature. Many successful people, whether creating or investing in a product, won't see a return if they only invest in something everyone already believes in.
The willingness to go against the grain is important. On top of that, persistence is key. This means iterating on the product or convincing investors.
Often, the first version of a product isn't the one that finds long-term success. Being willing to keep trying and essentially not taking no for an answer is crucial.
Beyond that, being strong interpersonally is very helpful. You'll be working with many different individuals and mindsets, so managing different personalities is important. You're inevitably going to hit road bumps with your startup.
Being able to navigate those challenges and work productively as a team through them is significant.
