What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
Making things happen is probably the greatest accomplishment. Closing a deal, solving a problem, or changing someone's mind – those are huge wins.
It's euphoric, or perhaps cathartic. The best part is the little wins. When an employee or team member hits an obstacle, and I can help them get through it by repositioning things, I love that.
I've always gravitated towards leadership. Helping the people who are helping me is one of the things I love most. My co-founder sometimes questions her confidence. I love reminding her that she knows who I am and what kind of person I am. I didn't bring her on to be nice, so I constantly remind her.
This helps me be better at it, because I didn't grow up that way. I grew up with a "rub some dirt on it, walk it off" mentality; you don't get coddled. So, to be able to properly bring her back to reality and say, "No, you are talented, you are intelligent. That's why you are here." I like doing that.
I like to be a positive influence on those who are positively influencing me. So, my two favorite things are the wins and the deals. Getting a lease or even an LOI approved, which isn't official, is a step towards a win. Those kinds of wins are great.
And then working through challenges with my team is also a favorite thing.
