What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

It's a common theme here, but the people, there's a really strong group of people that I've met and work in the industry. It's crafts at the end of the day, so people are very prideful of their work.

Everyone has an incentive to put out the best product. Working with people can be a great experience. It can be terrible if things don't go right all the time, but most of the time, you look at what you've built and collaborated on.

It's really fulfilling. I think it's fun to start and stop new projects. Looking at different projects, different challenges, and putting together budgets is all really fun and interesting stuff. Seeing that through to the end is very fulfilling.

You get to see all your work being done. You try new things on each project, learning what worked and what didn't. You learn different techniques and ways to work with people, to approach projects, to look at things, and to save money. All these are different aspects.

No two days are the same. Sometimes I'll come to work with a plan, but then we'll get a curveball and my whole focus will be diverted. It keeps you on your toes.

You end up surprising yourself. You'll go into something, like a contract negotiation, and the subcontractor will present something unexpected. You kind of roll with those punches and unlock new potential for yourself. It can be really fun and interesting, and you learn something every single day. That's what I like about the industry.
