What does a day in the life of a manager of strategy and impact look like?
A significant part of my role is grants management. It really depends on the time of year, but day-to-day, depending on where we are in a grant cycle, it could involve reviewing grant applications or preparing resources and webinars for current grantees.
I also spend time assessing and evaluating impact data, such as the number of pets or clients served, or pounds of pet food distributed. Resource development is another big part of my everyday tasks and focus.
Finally, I assess how to demonstrate the impact of the grants and the programs' work. This is done for our partners and also for general audiences, as many people are not familiar with pet programs. They often think of Meals on Wheels solely as a meal provider.
However, they actually provide much more than just meal delivery, including pet services and support for social isolation.
