What is one lesson you've learned that has proven significant in your career?

I've been told to have confidence in my decisions, even if I'm not confident. It's kind of the "fake it till you make it" mentality.

When you're making an edit decision, you're making a million of those per day, and you start to doubt yourself sometimes if you don't know why a scene isn't working. But I think when you're first starting out, you have to really find your reasoning behind your edit, your justification, and stick by it.

Be confident when someone is asking you about it. If your editor gives you a scene and asks you to cut it, they'll ask you at the end why you made certain decisions. Just having that reason and not wavering in it is really important.

I think it shows that you have the ability to build on your skills from there.
