What entry-level positions can an undergraduate college student consider in this field?
From undergrad, we see a lot of young paralegals, and maybe not ones with actual paralegal certification, but case assistants and things like that. This is something you can do either over summer or while in undergrad or law school to get a sense of whether a law firm job might be for you.
To actually be a lawyer, though, you do have to go to law school and pass the bar in the state where you'd like to work. Speaking as someone who has passed both the California and New York bars, those are hard tests that you have to take very seriously.
So, you have the summer off usually before you start your job. Make sure you're actually studying and, honestly, memorizing.
