Favorite Parts Of Working In The Crypto Industry As An Institutional Account Manager
Mike, an Institutional Account Manager at Coinbase, finds the crypto industry's constant evolution—"it's basically like a rollercoaster"—most exciting, offering a "front row seat" to the development of regulations and industry norms. This dynamism contrasts sharply with the cyclical nature of traditional finance, where Mike previously worked, making the crypto space uniquely engaging and unpredictable.

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
The crypto industry is always changing and evolving; it's basically a rollercoaster. If you follow the headlines about crypto, you probably already have a sense of that. It's super exciting, and there's never a dull moment, for better or worse.
A lot of the components of the industry are being figured out on the fly. Working in the industry gives you a front-row seat to that, which is cool.
From a regulatory perspective, or all kinds of different legal questions, or even just norms around building products, these are things that haven't really been fully ironed out. We're just kind of making them up as we go. That's super exciting.
This is particularly true when compared to the traditional financial services world. Before this, things were really cyclical. You're always kind of following the Fed Minutes or global macro events, which can be interesting, but they always follow the same rhythms. Whereas in crypto, you definitely never know what you're going to get.
