What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?

Coinbase definitely has internships, and I think a lot of crypto companies do. It certainly depends on macroeconomic conditions. Right now, we're hiring, and plenty of companies are hiring, but perhaps not as much as when we were in the midst of a hotter economy and a big bull run.

Nevertheless, there are definitely roles if you're in engineering, software development, or coding. There's always an infinite amount of roles, and I think it helps to be as selective as you can.

There are also many startups in the crypto world with really cool positions. These are probably good ways of learning about different parts of the business where you get to wear many hats.

If you're interested in Coinbase or a bigger company, my suggestion is just to get a job pretty much anywhere within the crypto world. The vast majority of our hiring comes from people who come from traditional finance or big tech companies. There are very few people who come from crypto, partly because it's only been around for a short time and there are only so many other companies.

So, if you have experience at a crypto company, that's a great way to set yourself apart.
