Before getting involved at Intel in 2000, I didn't know much about a real estate and facilities functional role. However, I've since learned that this function exists at every company globally.
Every company has office space, labs, or factories, and there's a facilities and operations team that builds and operates them. Once you enter this field and develop relevant skills, you can apply them to any company, as the role is similar across organizations.
This field opens up the entire world as an opportunity due to the shared experience across different companies. It's a valuable skill set that provides a rich career path opportunity throughout your entire career.
