What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
The best thing about working in real estate development, specifically in nonprofit development with social services, is that I get to have a big impact on my community. I feel that my work has a lot of value, and that's something that really motivates me.
The best day in my job is after years of working with banks and construction teams, when it's all done. It's when people are moving into their apartments, and we get to hand them their own set of keys. They get to have a roof over their heads and a bed to call their own, which they may not have had for many years.
The work my organization does changes lives. The buildings we give to communities are a benefit not only to the people who call those places home, but to the whole neighborhood and the whole community. These buildings will be there for decades.
So, I think it's cool that my peers in the industry and I are doing something that changes lives and has a long-term impact on the places where we live. That's really cool.
