What does a day in the life of your role look like?
It kind of depends on the day as an academic. Right now, I'm not in a teaching quarter. So my day involves bringing up the programs I'm using for statistical research.
That's essentially what I'm doing most of the time. When I'm teaching, it's very different. I come in, prep my lecture, go over my notes, and then lecture, meet with students, and have office hours.
So it depends on the main focus of the quarter. I kind of like that variety too. It gets mixed in there with traveling to conferences or giving seminars and talks, which is fun. We also bring in seminar speakers, which is nice, so there's that aspect as well.
