What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered this industry?

I'm going to go back to managing others, managing relationships. A lot of times in college and undergrad, and even in grad school, you focus on the material and understanding, whether it be finance, accounting, or other subjects.

But a crucial skill you can pick up during your time in college is relationship management. This job is more about relationship management than anything else.

Sure, the numbers are involved, and other things come into play. But the lion's share is relationship management. Constantly working on improving my skills in that arena has been something I focus on every day.
