What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

There are two major categories of responsibilities for a woman as an executive director of a nonprofit. The first is the financial stability of your nonprofit.

Are you able to be the chief fundraiser? This includes not only raising funds directly through fundraising efforts but also through programming itself. Ensuring financial responsibility is number one.

Your nonprofit's impact on the world is only made possible by the ability to fundraise and translate those donor dollars into direct impact that you can see with your constituents.

The second element involves marketing, management, and relationship building. It's about driving home the mission of your nonprofit with new stakeholders and ensuring your programming is effective.

For example, if I have programming at certain schools, I make sure I can translate that programming into more schools. I also ensure what we are currently doing is effective and able to create change.

So, there are two elements: being financially responsible for your nonprofit, and being a chief marketer, chief champion, and quality assurance manager.
