Favorite Parts Of Working In The Non-Profit Industry As An Executive Director
Michael's favorite aspect of the nonprofit industry is the directly visible "social impact," a key element differentiating it from previous roles in real estate and media analytics where impact was less tangible. The ability to "see your work" and know it's "changing lives" is a significant source of job satisfaction for this Executive Director.

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I think a key element of the nonprofit industry is being able to see your work. It's rewarding, and you don't always get to see the tangible results of your efforts.
I was also a little involved in real estate development. You can see the building, but you don't always live in it. I was also in media analytics, where you don't always see the impact of your numbers.
But in the nonprofit world, you directly get to see what is done, how you're doing, and make sure that what you're doing is actually changing lives. I think the fact that social impact is so directly visible is honestly one of my favorite parts about the nonprofit world.
