I think people who thrive in the tech industry are generally able to change on the fly and think differently depending on what gets thrown at them. Because it's such a changing landscape, you might have a path forward that you think is going to be successful, but something throws a wrench in it.
You then have to change your roadmap or the way that you deal with a customer right on the fly. Nothing is ever a straightforward path; it's up and down. You will have setbacks based on the market demands for new things.
So, personality traits are important. You have to be dynamic. Not every path forward is going to be linear; it's going to be changing. You just have to be aware of how you can change and pivot quickly.
Just being able to be that way is a key personality trait to be successful in the tech industry.
