What skills are most important for a job like yours?
We've actually gotten this question a lot. Some filmmakers and producers who know we're doing the attorney grind ask about it.
It's all about communication, whether with a client, an actor on set, a producer, a financier, a composer, or a post-production professional. It's about knowing the mutual goals between both sides and reaching them effectively.
This starts with being able to communicate proficiently and concisely. Everyone is busy, and at a certain stage, everyone is swamped. Being able to effectively state what you want to get done in a concise manner shows you respect their time.
So, communication is number one. If you love what you're doing, being able to come across in a joyous manner is infectious. I guess we've been lucky that people often say that about Jerich and me.
Whether in a tiny or big meeting, we come across with joy because we truly love what we're doing. If you can embody that passion and show it when you're communicating, you can legitimately do anything in this world.
