Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Please include any internships or jobs you had before your current role.
I've worked primarily in the communications industry. My first internship was when I was a junior in college at an event planning firm, which touched more on experiential marketing.
To get into my current field, I've been working in public relations since 2019, so about five years. I first started as an intern in the summer before my senior year at LMU, at a health and wellness focused public relations agency.
During my senior year, I interned at a different public relations agency that was more travel, philanthropic, real estate, and food and beverage focused. It touched a lot of different areas.
When I graduated, I went back to the health and wellness public relations firm. I was promoted from an intern, as we had maintained a good relationship. After working there for a bit, I went to another public relations firm.
I started out as a coordinator at a restaurant and travel focused agency. After about a year and a half there, I was promoted to an associate. Then, I went to my current job, where I've been for a little under two years.
My current role is also primarily travel focused. So, travel public relations has been a little bit of my bread and butter. I'm an account executive here, and I've pretty much only worked in public relations.
