What are some entry-level positions in this field that an undergraduate college student might want to consider?
For consulting, and specifically tech consulting, the entry-level role is always going to be an analyst, a business analyst. You'll come in, and when you interview for business analyst roles at these large consulting firms, you typically go through a very rigorous interview process. This might include case studies and problem-solving exercises.
Once you get into the role, you usually provide a significant amount of support for the projects that we staff. You're essentially staffed onto a project and work to add value. Together with your lead, you'll get the project tasks done in a timely manner and communicate any issues to your project manager.
Generally, that's the role you start with, either a business analyst or a management analyst. This role is present in every organization and is a very positive entry-level career position. Most major consulting firms will have roles across all major cities that you can apply for.
