What skills are most important for a job like yours?
The skills that are most important for a job like mine are the ability to do things on your own and be a self-starter. Someone who doesn't have to be told what they need to be doing that day. I think that is the most important skill.
It's very easy to look around and wait for somebody else to tell you what the next step you should take is. When you're doing the kind of work I do, you can't do that. You have to make decisions yourself and follow through with those things yourself.
Of course, you're going to make mistakes, and then you have to learn from them. At that point, maybe you can talk to other people, like, "Hey, what do you think about this? Could I improve on this? Should I have done something differently?" This is especially true if you have people doing similar work.
But I think the most valuable thing is a sense of self-reliance. I think that's true for YouTube or content creation in general, or really anything where you're in charge of your own schedule or your own business. That sense of self-reliance is really huge. I couldn't do it without that.
