What A Head Of Growth At 3DNS Wishes They Had Known Before Entering The Crypto Industry
As a Head of Growth at 3DNS, one thing Max wishes to have known more about before entering the industry is decentralized finance (DeFi) and the broader applications of crypto, as partners can "sniff it out pretty quickly" if one isn't familiar with the lingo, especially when advanced DeFi applications have been in development for a long time. Gaining more knowledge in this area would improve communication with both customers and partners, especially in the domain security space where 3DNS operates.

What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?
That's a great question. I wish I knew a little more about domains, though I've been learning more about them. I also wish I'd learned more about DeFi, which is decentralized finance.
It's something I'm not too familiar with yet, but I'm interested in the different applications of crypto as a whole and its various use cases. My company specifically focuses on security. We sell domains to make them more secure, as domain hacking is common and easy to do through social engineering.
There isn't a lot of protection available. My company works on giving users more control through crypto technology. This helps users keep their domains and transfer them more easily. I've learned a lot about the security and infrastructure side.
I think learning more about the DeFi side of crypto would be beneficial. I talk to many partners who are involved in that area, but it's hard to communicate effectively if you don't know the lingo. People in crypto can often tell if you're not familiar with the terminology.
This is true in any industry, but specifically here, there's a term for people who don't know crypto: "Normies." I call myself a "Normie plus" because I can sound like I know what I'm talking about, but there are times when I really don't. People have been working on advanced decentralized finance applications for a long time. Learning more about it would help me better communicate with customers and partners.
