Who Thrives In Real Estate Tech According To A Far Homes Co-Founder
Max, Co-Founder at Far Homes, identifies two key traits for success in the real estate and tech sides of the industry: "hustlers" who "just do stuff" in real estate, and individuals who are "really good at prioritizing" and focus on measurable outcomes in tech; the ideal combination being when these seemingly opposing approaches work together harmoniously toward a shared goal.

1. People who thrive in the real estate industry are often described as 'hustlers' – individuals who identify opportunities and act on them decisively. They prioritize action and are comfortable figuring things out along the way.
2. In the tech side of the real estate industry, success often belongs to those who excel at prioritization and focus on measurable outcomes. They consistently evaluate tasks based on their impact on key metrics and avoid getting sidetracked by less important activities.
3. The most successful individuals in this dual-industry environment possess a blend of both these traits: the proactive drive of a 'hustler' combined with the strategic focus and prioritization skills needed to succeed in tech. This combination allows for effective collaboration and achievement of shared goals.

How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I would probably say the same two traits about the people and why I enjoy being in this industry, which is on the real estate side. I do think it's, for lack of a better word, the hustlers.
I don't mean that in a scammy way, or in the way some people on LinkedIn say they only sleep two hours a night. I mean the people who don't let anything stand between them and an opportunity they see. They're just people who do things.
On the real estate side, in my experience, that approach wins out. On the tech side, it's actually not the opposite. The people who thrive are those who always anchor everything to the ultimate output or metric that matters.
They don't get caught up in anything in between. They hold themselves and their teams accountable, asking how what they're doing drives impact. They question if the impact is meaningful enough to warrant their time.
So, I'd say people who are really good at prioritizing and always tying actions to an outcome. These can sometimes be opposite tendencies between real estate and tech.
It's beautiful when they work together. When people go after the right things and everyone is on the same page, that's where this industry shines. Honestly, that's part of why I love it so much.
