What do you enjoy most about being in the gaming industry?
The name of the industry, gaming video games, says it all. I grew up a big gamer.
Being able to work in an industry I grew up admiring, playing its products, and now working with some of those companies is really rewarding. Ultimately, we're creating products played by millions, if not billions, of people worldwide.
These products often bring joy to people's lives. It's not like we're doing life-or-death work like heart surgery; our industry is all about entertainment. I find it super enjoyable knowing that the things I work on bring joy to so many.
The gaming industry is also incredibly fun and filled with creative, passionate people. It's great attending industry conferences and trade shows, running into familiar faces, and learning about their projects.
You get sneak peeks at what the next big games will be, two to three years down the line. You also learn about new technologies and trends within the industry.
Then, you tie it back to your business, thinking about how these trends will impact you and how you can anticipate future developments. This helps build into your business to help clients and the industry grow.
It's a fun industry filled with fun people who are passionate about their jobs. I think that, in and of itself, is probably the greatest hallmark and the greatest thing about the industry I work in.
