How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
To thrive in the pharmaceutical industry, you need to be thoughtful and smart. This may be a bit of a weird adjective, but you have to be patient.
If you only see what's in front of you, just thinking about what you're making today and why, without considering the long-term impact, it will grind you down. So, being someone who can solve challenges and is persistent is great. I love the term "grit."
But also, you need to have the mindset that your work has a bigger purpose. You are part of a very large industry, all trying to move towards the same goal. While you may not see the day-to-day progress, it is happening, and you are a part of it.
Really seeing the bigger picture is essential to succeeding in the industry.
