How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I'd say, in the same vein as my previous answer, people who have a voracious appetite for knowledge are interested in learning and want to grow. I think the people who thrive are incredibly passionate about the work too.
The work is too demanding to say, "I don't really care about the product." If you feel like you don't care about climate change or reliable infrastructure, then you're not going to do well on long days.
This is especially true when you're being pushed to your mental capacity to understand something and figure out how to overcome the obstacle of that day. So, it's certainly a desire to learn, intellectual rigor, a passion for what we're doing, and a strong work ethic.
