What is your biggest challenge in your role?
One of the biggest challenges I see in my own role is continuing to innovate on different ways of optimizing my time. It's not about innovation in what I'm doing, but how I'm doing things. Lots of new tools and technology coming out help with this, along with the productivity aspect.
Knowing my own limits is also huge. I feel like a lot of individuals in marketing, and a lot of businesses, especially startups, are consistently pushing themselves. Knowing the healthy limit of that is key, because we're all human.
We all have to understand our own limits, and if you don't, you will get burned out. Especially being a freelancer, you don't want to get burned out. If you need help, you need to ask for it.
For example, if you don't have the capacity to take on a specific project because you won't necessarily have the time with all your clients, you have to hire someone to help. Obviously, I'm the guiding force for what's happening, and I review everything. I'm the last stop.
But understanding your own limits is probably the biggest challenge I've faced, especially starting out. That has to be number one: understanding your own limits.
