Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Please include any internships or jobs you had before your current role.
Sure. I grew up near O'Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois. The only thing I ever wanted to do as a kid was to be a pilot.
Nothing else, but that was just an idea. It almost got me to flunk third and fifth grade because our school looked to the north, and all I did was watch airplanes all day. I wasn't off to a good start, but I eventually got focused and worked harder at my studies.
I was lucky enough to get an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. I went there because I knew I could become a pilot out of there in the Navy. But over time, I became attracted to the Marine Corps, so I got a commission in the Marine Corps and I never regretted it.
