What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?
Surprisingly, there are all different kinds of entry-level positions. What people miss or don't truly understand is that a coffee business is a business like any other.
Someone studying accounting can get an accounting job. Someone studying marketing could get a marketing job, and someone studying sales could get a sales job, and so on. Most people's first interaction in the coffee industry is thinking they should be a barista.
That's a great thing too, because understanding how things work, or with a roaster, understanding how the delivery of the product works, is an amazing experience. So there are tons of opportunities in this industry.
You just have to understand that a business is a business. Whatever your passion is and whatever your area of study is, that's what you should seek out.
