What does a day in the life of a president and co-founder look like?

There's no typical day. Some days I'm up at six o'clock, getting a call from one of the cafes if something has happened – a machine went down, the power's out, there's a flood.

Other days involve coming into the office. I usually have what we call "kitchen hours" where I'll make myself a cup of coffee. People come and chat to share their ideas, kind of like lobbyists.

There are a lot of meetings, opportunities for coaching, and chances to bounce ideas off one another. We're really big on a team-oriented culture and an excellence culture.

This means setting and maintaining a high standard, focusing on what needs to be done for the day, week, month, and quarter. It also includes staying updated on happenings at the cafe, like if a celebrity showed up.
