What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before entering this industry?

I think people don't realize that design operations exists, and it's becoming more common. When I started, it wasn't even a recognized term.

I was hired as a project manager, and the field of design operations was still developing. Now, with college students exploring various career paths, they might discover this role.

It's possible you possess a skill set that could translate into a career in design operations, even if you're not aware of it. I wish someone had told me this when I graduated.

When I took my first job out of college, I had no idea what I wanted to do and just took the first opportunity. My career path has been very serendipitous.
